When 20 of the area’s up and coming leaders under age 40 were honored Tuesday at the Civic Center of Anderson, the new challenges were hardly subtle.
“There is life after 40,” emcee Butch Hughes said as he held up a trophy that goes to The Independent Mail’s 15 over 50 award winners. “You’ll be really excited when you get something like this.”
And during her keynote address, Furman University Executive Director for Corporate Engagement Liz Seman offered a series of challenges, asking the under-40 honorees to “find a place where your talents, strengths and passions meet” in a way that helps the community.
